Since I got pesticide-poisoned in 1996, I’ve been environmentally sensitive. Petroleum-based products, such as plastics and synthetic fabrics, have been a real problem. I’m an avid reader, especially when I’m sick and in bed, and I couldn’t find a holder for my e-reader that was non-toxic, let alone worked well. In a $5 billion-plus market, there was no eco option.
So I invented one. It’s all-natural, it’s wonderful. I call it the eCoddle. It has a lot of personality, and it’s user-friendly, sensory-friendly, and Earth-friendly.
My background in ecovillages and intentional communities predisposes me to look for ways to make the world a better place, and empower people. And the really amazing thing about the eCoddle is that it’s the ideal product to showcase and spread a regenerative, decentralized production model. No factories, no mass production, no corporate kleptocracy. eCoddle is a brand that invites and empowers small makers, instead of competing with them.
It’s why our eCoddle pattern is open source (coming soon), and why we encourage you to make your own eCoddle, or enjoy one of ours. Not every eCoddle in the world will be all-natural, but they’ll still be elegant pieces of design that hold devices and other things in satisfying, authentic-feeling ways.
And I do believe eCoddles enjoy being enjoyed — and that synergy multiplies everyone’s happiness.
And of course our eCoddles here at eCoddler always are natural. And we do own the eCoddle™ trademark.
So… eCoddler.com is my Maker shop, and we host the eCoddle World website at ecoddle.com. There we share all things eCoddle, including an online Marketplace where eCoddle Makers can — at no charge — link to eCoddles they have made and, perhaps, are selling — and they can share cool eCoddle news and videos, etc., featuring experimental uses and antics.
